Yes. Our drum smokers, offset smokers, and combo units are all designed to smoke low-and-slow or grill hot and fast. A dedicated combo unit, like the Canyon, goes a step further with a separate grill chamber so you can do both at the same time.

Charcoal and hardwood, whether logs, chunks, or chips, are what give Oklahoma Joe’s smokers and grills their signature smoky flavor. Most of our lineup runs on charcoal and wood alone. A few combo models pair that with a gas burner for faster weeknight grilling without giving up a true charcoal and wood smoking side.

A charcoal grill is the easiest place to start: direct heat and simple vent control let you get comfortable fast. A drum smoker is a natural next step, with that same approachable learning curve plus the ability to smoke low-and-slow once you’re ready.

Think about how much you want to tend the fire. A drum smoker holds a steady temperature with minimal adjustment making it a good fit for hands-on beginners and busy cooks alike.
