  • The Marshal Centerbox operates both as a smoker and a grill. The fuel source can be either the charcoal box at the bottom or a traditional fire grate and frame for grilling.

What type of cooking system is this smoker?

  • The Marshal Smoker uses a charcoal cooking system designed for low-and-slow smoke cooking or high temperature grilling.

What is the total cooking space?

  • 1200-square-inches of total cooking space; 540-square-inches of primary cooking space & 660-square-inches of secondary cooking spaces.

What are the cooking dimensions?

  • There are 4 cooking grates and they are each 17.7" x 7.5."

What is the weight of this product?

  • This smoker weighs 235 lbs assembled.

How many lbs. of charcoal can be used while cooking?  

  • The removable fire basket holds up to 17 pounds of charcoal or wood when the grill is in smoke mode. For grilling much less fuel will be needed depending on what is being cooked, see Product Guide for recommendations.

How long will a normal cook last when using 17 pounds of charcoal or wood?  

  • 4-6 hours.

How is the temperature regulated?

  • Two temperature gauges accurately monitor temperatures and dampers on the smoker and firebox provide 360° airflow to evenly fuel fire.

Does this smoker have any type of heat shield over the firebox ot is it open to the cooking chamber?

  • Yes, there is a diffuser above the fire box that blocks direct heat to the cooking grates during a slow cook. For grilling the fire grate frame and fire grate are positioned above the diffuser.

How long should assembly take?

  • 90 – 120 minutes.

What are the rear hangers used for?

  • The rear hangers are used for grates, grilling tools, and accessories.

  • The Marshal Centerbox Smoker material specification is 2 mm thick cold rolled steel for the smoke chamber and firebox, 2.5 mm thick cold rolled steel smoke chamber lid.
